Parents of KCPE candidates from Kitengela International School took to the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) offices on Sunday to express their discontent over perceived anomalies in the recently released results, demanding swift rectification.

Expressing their concerns, they argued that the results failed to accurately represent the abilities of their children, who have consistently performed well. Samuel Nderitu, a parent, voiced his skepticism, stating, “We truly believe that those do not reflect the abilities of our kids; we are 100 per cent sure those are not our results. It can’t be that a school that has been number 1 in the country for the last three years suddenly doesn’t have top performers in two years’ time.”
Claudia Okumu, another concerned parent, added, “To me, as a parent representing the parents, I believe that this is a sincere injustice to the children of Kitengela International, as indicated here, and also to the children of other schools in this nation.”
The parents are urging for the anomalies to be addressed promptly to ensure their children are not unfairly disadvantaged in the upcoming selection process set to commence on Monday.

In response, KNEC officials convened for a meeting on Sunday, encouraging parents to file official complaints within the stipulated time frame. As the controversy unfolds, the education community awaits the resolution of these concerns, underscoring the importance of a fair and accurate representation of students’ achievements in the examination results.
